IF U AIN'T HIT THE STAGE YET, THEN YOU AIN'T NO REAL ARTIST!!!

NEWS FLASH: IF U AIN'T HIT THE STAGE YET, THEN YOU AIN'T NO REAL ARTIST!!!...No disrespect, but if you are the cat on facebook, myspace, and youtube uploading videos of your songs or your Spoken Word pieces, braggin' about how dope you are and have yet to spit in front of a real crowd of people, then you ain't no true artist...yet. I got a saying, "In order to call it a masterpiece, one must first master the piece." And in order to fully master your piece it has to be perfected in front of a group of diverse minds and different perspectives. Granted, everyone may not feel what you saying (you gone always have hataz), but if you are truly dope like you say you are, the people will give you good feedback. And if you are not, they will let you know that also. The hataz might even like it, even though they might not let you know. Me personally, I wanna reach my full potential as an artist and in order to do that I know that creating a stage presence for myself is essential and very important for my growth and confidence as an artist. Plus, more people will be willing to buy whatever product you are selling, whether it be CD's, DVD's, or whatever, if they witness an artist performing in person rather than hearing it and seeing it on the Internet. I'm not trying to sound negative and if I do, sorry. I'm just saying, I know it's a lotta catz out here that's just doing it because they ain't got nothing else to do or just for fun by pretending and playing artist and record label...But to the cats that are really serious about their craft, this goes out to you: THE EVOLUTION WILL NOT BE COMPUTERIZED...It will be on stage brothers...Peace and One Love...Ghost

Run This Town: Knowledge Nick and Preauxx

Who dat that think that Memphis ain't got no real Hip-Hop artists and Lyricists???!!!...If you are that person, then I most definitely need to put you on to two cats that are creating a HUGE buzz in the streets of the M: Knowledge Nick and Preauxx...Remember the names because the two cats are lethal with the lyrics...Both are definitely making their presence felt on the Memphis rap scene (and that's saying a lot being that Memphis is primarily a city of Crunk and Hardcore Gangsta Rap)...They are blessing Memphis with something that is long overdue and greatly needed and that is ORIGINALITY and POSITIVITY....

Knowledge Nick is no New Jack when it comes to the Memphis Hip-Hop scene.  He has been doing his thing several years now by making his presence felt at practically every open mic show in the city and heavily pushing his debut Album "The Enlightenment," which by the way is a Memphis classic in my opinion.  As a student of the game, Nick represents pure Hip-Hop at it's finest.  His flow kind of reminds me of Talib Kweli in his genesis stage... But make no mistake, Knowledge Nick holds his own when it comes to his uniqueness and originality...He may just be the most gifted lyricist in the city!!!  (YEAH, I SAID IT!!!) He is slated to drop his second LP "The Transcribed Sentiment" sometime this year.

If you are a University of Memphis student, then you are not at all new to Preauxx. As a New Orleans native, Preuaxx is obviously not from Memphis but he is definitely leaving his mark here during his stay with his new mixtape "To Kill a Mockingbird."  It was released on Datpiff.com on May 5th, 2010 and already has 58 downloads and 249 listens to-date!!!  And if you hear the mixtape for yourself you will see why.   The first track will let you know up front that this dude is dope, cold and "different."  He has the most "out there" flow I've ever heard in my life (and I mean that in a good way.)!  He reminds me of Wayne and Cudi mixed in one!!!!  No lie...Check him out for yourself, along with Knowledge Nick because they both are off the chain and you are missing out on some dope Memphis Hip-Hop if u don't!!!
